It was recently discovered that Warner Bros will dump the Michael Dougherty-directed "Trick 'r Treat" onto DVD in the near future. But Variety is now reporting that the movie will actually kick off the Screamfest Horror Film Festival on October 10th. The festival will run from October 10th till the 19th, at Mann's Grauman's Chinese Theater and Dougherty will be on hand for a Q&A session after the screening.
"Trick 'r Treat" is about four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween. An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
It is written and directed by Dougherty, who actually wrote the screenplay for "X2" and probably had something to do with the casting, since both Anna Paquin and Brian Cox are in the film.
