Screen Gems has unveiled the poster for the upcoming horror/Western film "Priest," starring Paul Bettany (Da Vinci Code). Check it out below.
An adaptation of a TokyoPop comic book, "Priest" is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest (Bettany) who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece.
The new movie is directed by Scott Stewart, who is also directing Bettany in "Legion." It is scheduled to hit theaters on August 13th, 2010.

Picked up a few issues some years back and was impressed. Mostly just heard good things from comic fan I trust. When they heard a live action movie was being produced they freaked out. Gangster #1 is probably one of the most underated gangster films ever made and Bettany literally kills! Check both out ASAP.

you gotta be fucking kidding me. that is not the plot of priest. priest is a complex narrative about a fallen angel named temozarella who wants to destroy earth and kill god. a priest seals temozarella in a tomb with himself but is accidentally opened in the wild west by ivan issacs. ivan is killed but the priest, now a devil, that was in the tomb re-animates his soul to kill temozarella and his minions is the west.
how can you take nothing from that plot and turn it into a shit vampire flick fuckin pathetic.
