"Family Guy: Something, Something, Darkside" TrailerPosted: September 15th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

"Family Guy: Something, Something, Darkside" is set to appear in stores on DVD and Blu-ray on December 22nd. And today, we have the official trailer for this highly-anticipated sequel. Check it out below.
The story of "The Empire Strikes Back" is retold. Darth Vader (Stewie) is hunting the rebel Luke Skywalker (Chris) and his troops relentlessly across the galaxy. On the ice planet Hoth, Luke has a vision of his late mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Herbert), telling him to go to the Dagobah system to learn the ways of the Force under Jedi Master Yoda (Carl).
Meanwhile Princess Leia (Lois) finds herself taking a shine to the scruffy pilot Han Solo (Peter) and, against all odds, the two soon fall in love. But an encounter with Han's old friend Lando Calrissian (Mort) lands them in the clutches of the Empire. Envisioning this, Luke chooses to forgo his Jedi training to save his friends. It all comes to a head in a climactic confrontation with Darth Vader himself.

Great, another Family Guy star wars parody.
Just what we need.
McFarlene gives a bad name to Liberals EVERYWHERE.

It's sad to see a series like this just run on and on. They eventually lose their appeal and go from being liked/accepted to hated/annoying.
The Simpsons is another example of this. They just become cash cows.

This show doesn't parody things so much as just reference them. Almost like those Date/Epic/Superhero Movie abominations.
The Star Wars episodes are even worse. If a fifteen second reference to some crappy 70s/80s thing isn't funny, there will be another reference in 15 seconds that might be (rarely are any of the cutaways funny, but whatever, I guess some people think they hit often enough to keep watching). With the Star Wars eps, it's just one extended reference that gets worse and worse as it goes on.

McFarlane has lost it. This was much funnier when Robot Chicken did it.

It would have been nice if the trailer actually had some jokes in it. Seriously, what the fuck.

@ BlueJulias apparently Mort is Lando. Which is stupid. He would have made a much better R2. They obviously didn't think past Blue Harvest too much.

@lost, yeah I think the funniest part of Blue Harvest was when Chris (voiced by RC's own Seth Green) comments about how this is a direct rip of Robot Chicken far more funny take on Star Wars. McFarlane must've cut one big ass check to just blatantly cover the same thing. But I guess since they're all probably sucking each other off around there, they're fine with it.
I'm looking forward more to Robot Chicken's RoTJ spin than this or the next Family Guy one which will happen. Unfortunately.

Family Guy's 'comedy' is like a mix between Tom Green and Dennis Miller. Tons of unfunny obscure references/jokes.
