Video: "Star Trek" Deleted Scene Shows the KlingonsPosted: October 29th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Most of the trailers and TV spots for "Star Trek" showed Nero (Eric Bana) saying "the wait is over" as the camera zooms in on his face. But that scene never actually made it into the movie.
Now, thanks to Spike, we have a deleted scene from the upcoming November 17th release of the "Star Trek" DVD/Blu-ray that shows what that Nero line is all about.
Apparently, the Klingons, which also never made into the movie, captured Nero and are threatening him with a very unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, they are wearing masks, so we don't get a good look at their faces. Check out the deleted scene below.

but in the movie, centaurian slugs are a truth telling macguffin.
I will consider this more of an alternate scene than a deleted scene.

"Where does this scene fit in the movie?"
I'd say it doesn't fit in, Spooky. There's gotta be at least another scene that didn't make it into the film that sets this one up. I don't remember even a slight reference to the Klingons

This is the scene Bana was talking about- There was a small subplot where an action scene takes place where Nero gets his ship back and destroys the Klingon fleet...
...it was meant to take place during the moments Kirk and the rest are at the academy being intercut with Uhura at the academy picking up the distress signals...
Instead they just played the academy out without intercutting and had the scene where Uhura comes into her dorm room talking about the chatter she picked up. Then Kirk uses this info to later figure out the distress calls are fake and warns Pike they're about to warp into a trap.

"how come all the aliens in star trek have 2 arms 2 legs and human look a like face?"
They (kind of) explain it in TNG, as a rely old alien race (that had 2 arm and 2 legs) added there DNA into a lot of worlds in the Alfa Quadrant. And that’s how most of the people look so much alike….that and it’s a TV/Movie.

This scene would fit in to the movie if you saw all the other deleted scenes. Some of them are rewritten.

Anyone know who played the Klingon? Sounded to me a bit like Chiwetel Ejiofor, the Alliance Operative from Serenity.
