Screen Gems has already confirmed that it is working on the fifth "Resident Evil" installment to make the September 14th, 2012 release date. Both Milla Jovovich and Sienna Guillory are returning.
Now, Jovovich updated her Twitter account with a few more details. "I think [the new movie is] called 'RE: Retribution,' but I have to ask Paul [WS Anderson] to be sure," she wrote, adding: "I pray for Japan everyday and I can't wait to go there and shoot the next 'RE.'"
Jovovich didn't say whether Anderson will direct "Resident Evil 5," but said that he's currently figuring out the story. "Paul has kids that are professional players," she wrote. "All they do is play the games until they master every level and unlock every code. They play the games for weeks and give Paul the footage. So, he's literally watching days of the most awesome 'RE' players out there to get inspiration for the next installment of the franchise."

I only like the first two Resident Evils the third was a monstrousity and didn't bother after the fourth.
They're just gonna keep on milking it like the saw movies until it does poorly and then they'll stop.

As long as they introduce Leon Kennedy i think the movie might work. RE 1 2 & 3 were pretty decent ... which is why it surprised me that RE 4 sucked so much ass.

The Resident Evil movies are truly awful. How they got to five is beyond me considering most people I've personally met basically feel the same way. RE5 game was pretty solid, if they make that into a film (or RE4 for that matter) then maybe we'll have something worth watching. And maybe another director besides Anderson or that guy who did Highlander cause these movies are in serious need of reboot.
