Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim" Plot Synopsis RevealedPosted: May 24th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Guillermo Del Toro is currently working on a big-budget sci-fi action film, called "Pacific Rim," which stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Rinko Kikuchi, and Charlie Day. All we knew about the movie is that it's about giant robots fighting giant monsters, and was once considered the next "Godzilla" film. But now, Warner Bros has unveiled the official plot synopsis, check it out below.
Plot: When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
"Pacific Rim" is set to hit theaters on July 12th, 2013.

Look, this is a total rip-off of Neon Genesis Evangelion, without the weird sex scenes, the annoying red-headed c*nt German girl, and the bizarre apocalyptic ending.
But hey, if it's nothing like Battleship, I'm good with it.

I was hoping for more than this. All I picture is godzilla meets mortal kombat for some reason. You know... with ridiculous over acting. lol

So they pitched it as Robot Jocks meets Real Steel with the Avatar psionic link battles Godzillas , and WB said " Hey why not Nolan isn't gonna sh*t us a 4th Batman , when can you start. " Unless the trailer is awesome , pass .
