First Images from Disney's Animated "Wreck-It Ralph" ComedyPosted: June 5th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Disney has unveiled the first official images from the upcoming animated "Wreck-It Ralph" 3D comedy, which is set to hit theaters on Novembers 2nd. Check it out below, and come back tomorrow to see the trailer.
Plot: Ralph (John C. Reilly) is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer), the "good guy" star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he's tired of playing the role of a bad guy. He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he's got what it takes to be a hero.
On his quest, he meets the tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch) from the first-person action game Hero's Duty. But it's the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) from the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush, whose world is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. Will Ralph realize his dream and save the day before it's too late?

Thus far I’ve been more impressed with both the visuals and storytelling of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ CG films (Meet the Robinsons, Bolt and especially the underrated Tangled) than I have with the self-indulgent, self-congratulatory PIXAR; The Incredibles is their only film that I genuinely like.
I’m really digging the premise for this film: a character that travels through the history of video games. It’s odd and very creative and shows a lot of potential. While I’m not so big on today’s console gaming, I’m still a hardcore fan of classic Arcades and, to a somewhat lesser degree, console games from the 80s on through to the mid-90s.
So I hope they let their imaginations run wild when creating as many different classic game world types as possible. Also, the film’s first time feature length director is a veteran of The Simpsons. So that’s a plus.
Still, a part of me wishes they would have forgone this and just made an all-out CG animated Earthworm Jim epic.

Won't be much of a history of video games if the protagonist never gets to run into characters like Mario and Sonic, which I doubt will happen given that Disney doesn't have access to the rights.

No, Sam and Max would be a good CGI movie, but that too will never happen.

I would love to see Disney spend a few years working on another epic like Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. But alas, they have given up on drawing anything, quite sad.
