About a week ago, James Badge Dale was spotted wearing a red, white and blue version of the Iron Man suit on the set of "Iron Man 3." The suit looks exactly like the one worn by Iron Patriot, who is actually "Spider-Man" villain Norman Osborn.
LatinoReview has now learned that the suit is not supposed to be Iron Patriot, but War Machine, who is Tony Stark's best friend James Rhodes (Don Cheadle). Since the US military has possession of the suit worn by Rhodes in "Iron Man 2," they decided to give the armor a patriotic design. And it's not Dale who's wearing the suit in the leaked set photos. It's actually a stunt-man.
In related news, part of "Iron Man 3" will take place during Christmas. Recent set photos show a Christmas tree next to the AIM building entrance. This doesn't come as a surprise since most of Shane Black's films (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon) are set around Christmas time.
