Lionsgate Planning to Reboot "Twilight"

Posted: June 17th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Lionsgate Planning to Reboot TwilightSubmit Comment
Lionsgate hasn't been doing very well financially, despite having "The Hunger Games" and "The Twilight Saga," which came along with the $412 million acquisition of Summit Entertainment. And while we can expect at least three more "Hunger Games" sequels, the last "Twilight" installment will be released in November.

No studio wants to lose a massive franchise. Warner Bros is still trying to figure out how it'll make billions of dollars that "Harry Potter" was bringing in. But Warners has all those iconic comic book characters, like Batman and Superman. Lionsgate has nothing, especially after losing "Saw."

This is why Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Lionsgate is already having internal discussions about continuing "Twilight." It's still not clear what will happen, but we've already heard talks of a spin-off, which would focus on Bree Tanner, a newborn vampire first introduced in "Eclipse."

It's unlikely that there will be any more sequels, since Robert Pattinson already made it very clear that he will not return. But the supporting actors, like Kellan Lutz, would at least consider one or two more installments. And there's obviously the option of just rebooting the entire thing, which Bloody-Disgusting believes will happen. In other words, "Twilight" is not going away.

Of course the supporting actors would want it to continue, that's their only source for income.

The sad part is that it will still make a ton of money.
theotherworld writes:

why can't they make a new franchise, that some writer has written about something new? something original?

Geez, when they will ever learn? Reboot sucks.

Lionsgate, whoever told you what market to go after, meant to say "teen" and not "tween".

I like that the source is "bloody disgusting". Never been truer.

No surprise though - Lionsgate has always been the Ed Wood amongst Hollywood studios.

f*cking technology.

To think of it "Midgets In Jail" sounds like a sweet title for a Farrelly Bros. movie.

Think about it, Hwood.

Only way a reboot should happen is within the opening moments a nuclear explosion goes off and breaks apart each character atom by atom. Lets see your immortal asses survive that sh*t!!!

Lionsgate has Madea movies, which basically secures the entire population of Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama.

They could always pick up another book series, like 39 Clues, or Alex Rider. Anything but Skulduggery Pleasant. I only want to see 20th Century Fox do Skullduggery Pleasant.

how retarded can hollywood be?

like Remaking a film series so close to the originals rarely works. the spider man movies barely got away with it, cuz those actually look decent compared to the original (Presuming itll be good)

But Twilight? Yea... no, that'll fail so bad lmao
minkowski writes:
on June 17th, 2012 at 8:16:11 PM

Wouldn't it be better if they simply traveled back in time to murder Stephanie Meyer in her cradle?
vincere01 writes:
on June 17th, 2012 at 10:13:50 PM

@mink. Not cradle. Right at the moment she comes up with the idea for the books. 1. So she can comprehend the fear of being murdered and cry out for help. 2. So when you tell her to go to hell and take your sparkling vampires with you she knows for what she is being bludgeoned for. And in that moment before death feel the shame
