Lionsgate has acquired the film rights to "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus," which is a guide to relationship and marriage that is the best selling non-fiction hardcover book of all-time, with over seven million copies in circulation.
The new film will star Reese Witherspoon and be directed by Bryan Buckley, who will be making his feature helming debut. His experience comes from commercials. In fact, he's called "King of the Super Bowl," because he has directed over forty spots for the annual NFL championship game. The plan is to begin filming in January.
No doubt that "Think Like a Man," which is based on a guide to relationships book by Steve Harvey, helped Lionsgate decide to move forward with a "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" movie. "Think Like a Man" recently grossed $90 million just domestically on a $12 million budget.
