Disney has released a new trailer for Tim Burton's stop-motion animated film "Frankenweenie," which is based on Burton's 1984 short by the same name. Check it out below.
Plot: After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life - with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.
"Frankenweenie" is written by John August (Big Fish) and features the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, and Atticus Shaffer. It is set to hit conventional and 3D theaters on October 5th.

I find it strange watching this trailer and thinking that I have already seen this movie before. Everyone knows that Burton likes to borrows from himself over and over again. The same dark gothic Halloween themes are repeated in the characters and the architecture. So its no coincidence that the dog reminds us of Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas, or the use of the spinning windmill from Sleepy Hollow, or the similar look of suburbia from Edward Scissorhands etc. I get the feeling that Burton deliberately wants everyone to experience this sense of deja vu of things that are Burtonesque. And in this way, we are all part of the madness of his creations. He is truly a mad scientist of the film world.
After watching the nice trailer "Epic", my intimate thoughts say: this is sh*t! Protect your children from this crap, Please.
Therapies can't do much for him MINK, he's too f*cked up in his head. Somebody must tell him that the 90's are Over. Don't you get bored with his dark, sinister vision of life after 20 odd years?
