Earlier this year, director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) revealed that he's hoping to shoot some of "Ant-Man" this year. A rumor began circulating that Wright was talking about shooting a post-credits scene for "Iron Man 3." And while that may still be true, it turns out that he meant something different.
THR has learned that Wright spent a week in June shooting an "Ant-Man" test reel that will be used to test the potential look and tone of his movie, as well as give an idea of how convincing Ant-Man's powers will look. The character is a founding member of The Avengers. He can shrink himself down to the size of an insect and uses a helmet to control armies of ants.
"Ant-Man" was first announced several years ago, when "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" were still in development. Since then, Wright took the extra time to work on the script with Joe Cornish. But "Ant-Man" won't be Wright's next film. He's first expected to shoot "The World's End" comedy this fall, re-teaming with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

This will work best as a teaser at the end of IM3 make it about 4 solid min of misdirection of ants and wasps fighting some villain then have Ant Man unshrink . Setting the stage to add him and Wasp ( if Marvel is smart ) to the Sheild movie . Pym and Wasp couldn't carry a film by themselves , IMO .

This kind of character just seems completely out of place with the other superheroes. I like Edgar Wright's movies, but from the name down to the concept itself, Ant-Man just sounds.....stupid.
