"The Dark Knight Rises" Press Release Confirms Cillian MurphyPosted: June 30th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
  Ever since "The Dark Knight Rises" started shooting, fans have been wondering if Cillian Murphy would return as Dr Jonathan Crane / The Scarecrow. And now, according to a press release announcing the film's European Premiere, it looks like Murphy is actually part of the cast.
The press release states that the following cast members will be attending the premiere: Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. It's unlikely that Murphy will be going just to hang out with his old buddies.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
Murphy's involvement was first reported during filming and later hinted at in one of the trailers. In the scene, Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman), Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard), and several of Gordon's cops are forced at gunpoint into a courtroom, which is filled with ex-con mobsters, Bane's mercenaries, and thugs. The Judge is revealed to be Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow (Murphy).

Sounds good to me. Including him for that brief time in TDK was a bonus not a detraction. Same here

He's in all three films, and to absolutely no effect. I bet Nolan would have drug The Joker and Two Face into TDKR, along with Ras Al Ghul, if you could have. Nolan's like the fat chick that just can't say no to one more buffet plate.
Little piggy.

Cabin in the Woods was f*cking stupid, I know that much. But I guess when you rip-off Clive Barker and no one notices, you're somehow a genius...

Cool. He was suitably creepy in Batman Begins, and it'll be interesting to see what kind of closure they give his character.
I wonder if Batman or Catwoman will take him down, or maybe Bane will just snape his neck.

By the way, I forgot to tell... I would be awesome if Heath didnīt kick the bucket.... Just imagine him making a cameo as a Jokerīs Judge disguise and Dr. Crane as a District Attorney.... That would definetly stole the complete movie.... Just simply awesome!!!!

@Mink
All that because there's one character that features in all three of his films?
That's a little overboard.

"That's a little overboard."
I agree. Dragging around a worthless character, one that never featured much in any Batman comics, throughout three films for a total of thirty minutes worth of screen time is kind of insane, no doubt, but this IS the director that has a guy running from collapsing ground, an exploding bridge that looks like it was done by The Mill's 'C team', and a flying squirrel vehicle that could never actually do much more than crash and burn in real life.
