The Lizard Gets His Own "The Amazing Spider-Man" PosterPosted: June 30th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Thanks to ComingSoon, we now have a shot of a new poster for "The Amazing Spider-Man," featuring a look at the Lizard. Unfortunately, it looks like they just took the poster for "Godzilla" and stuck a shot of Spider-Man in there. Check it out below.
Plot: Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father's former partner.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" is directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) and is scheduled to hit conventional and 3D theaters on July 3rd.

Terrible, terrible marketing. This is going to be Sony's John Carter.

This will not be Sony's John Carter. People will go see it, especially with the 4th of July holiday release date. It won't be Avengers box for sure, but it has a shot to make decent money for a couple weeks at least until TDKR comes out.

Every kid in the world who watched The Avengers will be up to watching The Amazing Spier-Man. My bets are that if it doesn't catch up to The Avengers it will be close, so yeah, $1 Billion mark.

"This will not be Sony's John Carter."
You're right, just wishful thinking on my part for Sony thinking they can Twilight Spiderman when they had something with Raimi that could have worked, still.
Instead, they wanted to ret-con reboot the entire damned thing to tie in with Avengers somehow, to make more money, and for that, I hope they lose money on TAS.
