"Wolverine 2" Casting New and Plot Synopsis RevealedPosted: July 9th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
ComingSoon has learned that 20th Century Fox has cast several Japanese actors for the upcoming "Wolverine" sequel, which takes place in Japan and will shoot in both Japan and Australia. James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) is directing and will release the film in theaters on July 26th, 2013.
Some of the actors include Hiroyuki Sanada ("Lost," Rush Hour 3, The Last Samurai) as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Push) as Yashida, and newcomers Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima as Mariko and Yukio, respectively.
The site also got a short plot synopsis from 20th Century Fox. It states: "Wolverine" finds Logan (Hugh Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel clashes with adamantium claws as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

I have a feeling that he will battling Silver Samurai. I just know the character from the arcade games in the 90's. Silver Samurai was just as bad ass as a villain.

Glad it's starting to film soon. Wolverine is awesome. And hopefully this movie will have a dark tone to it. Almost Punisher or Blade dark without making R-rated

This entire X-Men franchise is a total mess. It started off decently with Singer's first film, and then ran right off the tracks with X-Men 3. Then they made that Wolverine sh*t, tried to right things with First Class and are now making another Wolverine film that will probably not be any better than the first, followed then by yet another First Class film.
There's a sh*t load of potential to do an X-Men film, and for that reason, I don't think they should make this one, and instead, take a deep breath, and start over altogether.
And...Halle Berry as Storm? That was just a terrible casting call. She's not even black.

That's what I was hoping they were doing with First Class. If this movie ends up sucking, they'll have ruined it again.

After X-Men five films you would think at least one of them would get it right. Just one giant clusterf*ck.
I would like to see the 'Night of the Sentinels' from the TV series adapted for film. I would just swap a few characters. Instead of Morph I'd include Colossus as the X-Man who sacrifices his life. A tribute to the Legacy Virus in the comics. *Takes off nerd glasses*

Yeah, XMEN 1&2 were the best and everything else since has been "meh". Even First Class, while a noble effort, was flat to me. I'm just f*cking tired of these goddamn mutants. Take a break Fox, before XMEN becomes like the Police Academy of superhero film series....unwelcome and neverending.

They've already proven they could care less about the continuity of their own X-Men franchise like folks are stupid. So why not (like Mink said) just suck it up an do right?
1st Class f'd up with the whole Jackman cameo and although introducing Mystique this early conflicts with the rest of the franchise, I was ok with it as it's a nod to the Ultimate storylines.
