One, he's just too damned depressing.
Two, he tries way, way too hard to make it seem like he's making the greatest film of all time. Maybe that's just his work ethic, and I can respect that, but it comes off like imitation designer perfume.
Three, his 'twists' and attempts to woo the audience fall flat because they're often silly and contrived, like clones in The Prestige. I mean, visually, that was impacting but in retrospect, very, very goofy.
I'd add the folks like october and this James Holmes nut too, but Nolan can't help it he has a groupie following of d*ckless, sad little boys who never had a father.

On IMDb, people are talking about his lack of range, which to be honest, I hadn't really considered, but thinking about it now, they're right. Nolan essentially makes one kind of movie, basically, and dresses it in different clothes. Maybe he can change that, in time, but I don't know. Seems like his personality dictates his style, and his personality is pretty uniform.
