First The Wolverine Set Video, Plus Villain RumorSubmit Comment
Production has official started on "The Wolverine," which is a sequel/reboot of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Australia's 7News were able to get a sneak peek at some of the shooting that took place in Kurnell that has been made to look like a Japanese WWII prisoner of war camp. Check out the video below.

In addition, CBM claims that Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will be joined at the camp by another mutant, the villainous Lt. Ethan Warren, who was featured in Brian K. Vaughan's "Wolverine: Logan."

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD:

Both Warren and Wolverine were prisoners in Japan during World War II, but escaped. While in the woods, they found a Japanese woman, who Warren attempted to rape. After the woman fights back, Warren kills her and shoots Wolverine. But Wolverine recovers and attacks Warren, only to realize that he is also a mutant, incapable of being killed. At that point, a plane drops a nuclear bomb on them, something we already saw from the movie's concept art. As a result, Warren turns into a flaming skeleton man (pictured) out to kill Wolverine.

No matter how this film turns out, this will probably be Jackmans' last turn as Wolverine.

The laws of physics continues to be challenged here. A nuclear bomb being dropped on Wolverine would incinerate all of his living tissues, organs, costume, balls etc. It doesn't matter how well his regenerative mutant abilities work. With no live cells to replicate and grow again, there is no Wolverine. Assuming adamantium is indestructable, the only thing left would be a pile of shiny bones. With this action sequence they are rewriting Wolverine's powers to make his mutant ability to becoming completely indestructable. And from the looks of the pictured artwork, so is his costume.

No f*cking sabretooth?

Sabretooth (as we know) is Wolverine's brother.

@Mr. B. I know. Don't even go there. This premise is beyond stupid. Even in the last X-men movie with Jean Grey is stripping him of his flesh. He was replacing it at an incredible rate. How? He would need nutrients, food, water to do so. And at the rate he was loosing flesh... he would have run out of gas.

So if this one takes place during WWII how can it be a sequel to xmen origins?? following the events of the first one?

^^Backstory. Warren pops up in the modern day. Just an excuse to play Wolverine like Duncan Macleod in Highlander. Oh look, he's a bread vendor in France during the reign of Louis XIV. Now he's a wheelchair salesman in America, 1942. And so on.

"The laws of physics continues to be challenged here."

Not really the laws of physics, as that doesn't say you can make sh*t that must disintegrate during a nuclear detonation. More like the violation of common sense and theatrical decency.

In the comic wolverine has been blown into an adamantium skeleton before by the mutant Nitro, and he did completely recover, so even though it's far removed from reality, like the entire xmen universe, it's not really leaving the source material

to all you whining babies on here!!
you are way off the mark on your assumptions of this film. i can tell you all for a fact and as a fan that nothing is being portrayed off the beaten path of the comic origins.
its obvious that none of you have done your homework on the history of the character and his origins. so dont bitch about something that you know nothing about!.
from what ive seen and experienced, it looks to be a good movie and yes it will be better then the last

well if indy can...then im sure a re-generating mutant can.

its a comic movie people...a comic movie.

movies like this...including "the avengers" etc are there to distort the rules of general science for our enjoyment.

enjoy the ride guys

It's a comic book. What reality could you truly hope for? You want to see people not survive a nuclear blast? Go watch old footage of Nagasaki. We're talking about a mutant with claws and a metal laced skeleton who regenerates and ages slowly but yet we're looking for realism?
