Warner Bros and director Peter Jackson just announced that they are planning to make "The Hobbit" into a trilogy and are already filming the third installment. What the announcement failed to mention is the title of the new movie.
Coincidentally, the studio registered some domain names this week and it looks like the plan is to call the film either "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" or "The Hobbit: Riddles in the Dark."
The first one refers to a barren piece of land that is reigned over by Smaug the Dragon. It is where The Battle of the Five Armies takes place. The second one refers to one of the chapter names from "The Hobbit" novel.
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is set to hit theaters on December 14th, 2012. "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" will follow on December 13th, 2013. "The Hobbit 3" will then be released during the summer of 2014.
