James Franco is a Drug Dealer in Sylvester Stallone's "Homefront" ThrillerPosted: August 1st, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Sylvester Stallone recently wrote a script for an action-thriller, called "Homefront." Since then, Stallone's "The Expendables" co-star Jason Statham has been brought on to star and Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) has been hired to direct.
And now comes word that James Franco has joined the cast, once again playing a drug-dealer. "I cannot think of a better group to put this film on the big screen," said producer Avi Lerner. "Sly's script is fantastic, James and Jason are remarkable actors and Gary really knows how direct this type of film. We start production at the end of September in New Orleans."
Story follows Phil Broker (Statham), an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town hoping to escape his past. However, he finds the town to be overrun with violence, drug traffickers and an evil meth magnate named Gator (Franco). To save his endangered family, retribution is now the only thing Broker seeks.

Hard to see action-typecast Statham starring next to the more...artistic Franco, so we'll see how well this plays out, and with steroidal Sly directing, I just have to wonder who's the odd man out here.

I was actually talking about his action direction style, CH.
But you're a tad sensitive on the man, I see.
No worries.

Statham vs. Franco? That's one of the strange team ups ever.
Still this could be something awesome.
