Michael Kenneth Williams is Alex Murphy's Partner in "RoboCop" RebootPosted: August 7th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
  "Boardwalk Empire" actor Michael Kenneth Williams is in negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming "RoboCop" reboot. He will play Alex Murphy's partner who is close with his family.
In the original 1987 film, Murphy's partner was an officer named Anne Lewis, who was played by Nancy Allen. With the announcement of Williams casting, it seems that the partner role has completely been re-written.
"RoboCop" is directed by Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) and stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Laurie, Jackie Earle Haley, Jay Baruchel and Jennifer Ehle. It's set to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013.

@SacDaddy
Apparently we are the only ones who actually watched that show. Omar was one of, if not the best, things about The Wire
So sad Alex or whoever gave no reference to one of the best TV characters of all time that he played.

"it seems that the partner role has completely been re-written."
Of course, It's not Hollywood film-making if there isn't a token brother in a disposable subordinate role.
"and also he's got a biblical name"
More like Quranic, not Biblical.

Underplayed Actor who needs the right role. That Omar character was scary and funny.
Not sure about this role, but he needs something.

Wow. The casting for the rebooted ROBOCOP is getting better and better.
You know, now that they mention him, I would nominate this guy as the new Scarface if they were casting for the reboot. Sh!t, he already has the scar!!
As they say the Pacino's Tony Montana was the scarface of his generation and am very curious of what this generation's Scarface would be like...probably more gritty, urban and more complex.
Williams has shown to have mad acting skills, real menace, and can seem to handle drama. The guy knows his craft.
