Leonardo DiCaprios The Beach to Become a TV SeriesSubmit Comment
20th Century Fox is developing a TV series based on "The Beach," which is a 1996 novel by Alex Garland, and a 2000 film that was directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) And starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

The script will be written by Andrew Miller (CW's "The Secret Circle"), who said: "It's about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted from society who try to start over in paradise but discover that while creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder."

"The Beach" movie cost $50 million to make and went on to gross $144 million globally.

I wouldv expected this a few years ago to cash in on the Lost craze

Im assuming this will either be on Fox or FX(depending on the success of their new program schedule)
But it sounds like it'll be Beverly Hills 90210 on an island

A bunch of rich winers, runaways and fugitives boning each other in the front and stabbing eachother in the back

A Lord of the Flies television series would have been a hell of a lot better an idea. No one gives a f*ck about The Beach anyway. Or Alex Garland for that matter.

"and stabbing eachother in the back"

They should hire a few people from the WorstPreviews comment section, then.

The best thing about it was the film's score. Can't remember anything else about it besides Leo looking like a little bitch.

I loved this movie, the score made it even better. But it wouldn't make a good tv series

Unless they're going to throw the f*cking Dharma Station or the Smoke Monster in there, this will be an island series that fails.

The above pic is not of Leonardo DiCaprio. It is an age progression pic of Chloe Moretz in a couple of years. Scary.

You would think that the title of this article would recognize the author of the book before the actor who starred in the movie

Why not make Alan Wake a television series? It's all there, just waiting for someone to transition its narrative to a new medium.

It's about celebrity, not honesty. People know DiCaprio, almost nobody knows Garland, and to be honest, that seems pretty much justified.

^ ^ Garland is obviously a junky to write such a sh*t of a novel. And the titless French actress didn't help either.
minkowski writes:

Neither did Tilda Swinton, to be honest, Bullit.

She gives me an anti-boner.
Bullit writes:

^ Yeah, that scene where Swinton forced Di Caprio to f*ck her, YUK, so gross, anti-boner alright.
