  Sony Pictures Animation has acquired the rights to the 1980s sitcom "Alf," which plans to turn the property into a CG/live-action film. "The Smurfs" producer Jordan Kerner is on board to oversee the project along with show creators Tom Patchett and puppeteer Paul Fusco.
"Alf" centered on a friendly furry alien creature (a puppet) who crash landed on Earth and took up with the Tanners, a suburban family. Alf, whose name was later revealed as Gordon Shumway, is sarcastic and has an appetite for cats. He courts trouble with government forces that are on his tail. The show aired 102 episode from 1986-90.
Fusco voiced the title character on the show and is expected to reprise his role for the movie. No writer or director is currently attached.

any of the other actors from the show to make cameos
But that mom was shhmokin and the daughter was a nice bit of alright
But maybe he might be humbled enough by now to get a movie outta him

So.....hollywood is gonna make alf suck on teds teddy d*ck now? Hilarious. They either have to go more childrens oriented with this or full on hard R like ted. If they p*ssy out and go pg 13 than this will fail hardcore. No one wants to see a slightly sarcastic puppet for 2 hours. Ted worked because of his vulgarity. Its off puting and entertaining seeing that from something innocent like a teddy bear. If they go kiddy then im sure kids will eat it up like its muppet babies. If they go R they might be able to cash in on the popularity of ted. Anything else and i smell fail.
