Ben Affleck Turned Down "Justice League of America" Offer?Posted: August 10th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Variety just reported that Warner Bros is in talks with Ben Affleck (The Town) to direct the upcoming "Justice League of America" movie, which will unite Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern.
The article stated that Affleck will be taking meetings with the studio within the next few days, but Deadline claims that his people already turned down the offer. It's tough to say who's right, but it's likely that both are.
Affleck will talk to Warners and then ultimately decide not to take the job. Even Variety says that Affleck would be smart to pass since "Justice League of America" will take years of his time. While the studio would let him continue pursuing his acting career, he would not be able to direct anything else. And being a hot director, this project could destroy his reputation if it's not a huge hit.

Yeah, because Affleck's intelligence landed him award-winning roles in movies such as; "Gigli", "Pearl Harbor", and "Surviving Christmas."

This movie no matter who they get to direct, won't be nearly as successful as The Avengers.

Always thought The Town was mediocre at best. Affleck basically Frankensteined parts of Heat to The Departed and gave it a Boston accent, big f*cking deal. He would be a terrible pick to make JL.

i wouldnt have been completely against him directing but im glad hes not taking a role at the very least (yet). let johnathon nolan write, chris nolan produce (since hes producing both man of steel and the batman reboot anyway), and let somebody like rupert wyatt direct. even though he's working on the planet of the apes sequel. but somebody with that story telling style anyway.

f*ck the Nolans and their male life partner Goyer. They have no business touching DC material ever again after that sh*tty DKR film.
