"Bill and Ted 3" Hires DirectorPosted: August 10th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

We already know that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have been developing a third "Bill and Ted" installment. Original "Bill and Ted" creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have been writing the script and now comes word that the new movie has a director.
NY Mag has learned that Dean Parisot (RED 2, Fun with Dick and Jane, Galaxy Quest) is in talks to direct. The plan is to make a sequel for the price of a comedy like "Hot Tub Time Machine," which cost $36 million.
MGM owns the rights to the franchise, but is not willing to finance the entire budget. As a result, the project is being shopped around to other studios. But even if all the money is raised, "Bill and Ted 3" will still have to wait for Parisot to finish shooting the upcoming "RED" sequel, which goes into production this spring.

A "mid-priced studio comedy, currently being shopped to other studios to co-finance it. It's a good tactic because no one looses big if it flops, but everyone wins if it bubbles.

They offered the Bill & Ted directing job to Ben Affleck, but he turned it down. Motherf*cker turns down everything.

36 million? Really?
Wait...they use a phonebooth as a time machine....they meet historic characters--actors in period costumes....and probably close ups of fogged stage with lights ...and closeups of actors hands doing air guitars...hmm?
Yeah, doable...sh!t, I think that'll even cover the marketing with the 36 mill.

It'll never, never get made. Ever.
"MGM owns the rights to the franchise, but is not willing to finance the entire budget."
