"ET" Creator and "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" Director Have DiedPosted: August 10th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Mel Stuart, the Emmy-winning filmmaker who is best known for directing "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," has died. His daughter told The Associated Press that he died on Thursday night of cancer at his home in Los Angeles. He was 83.
Then on Friday, Carlo Rambaldi (pictured), the special effects guru who won three Oscars for his work on the 1976 "King Kong," Ridley Scott's "Alien" and Steven Spielberg's "ET," also passed away at his home in Italy. He was 86.
After designing aliens for the closing sequence of Spielberg's "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," Rambaldi worked on "Alien," earning his second Oscar for his work on the construction of the Xenomorph creature. He later re-teamed with Spielberg to design and create the iconic title character for "ET," for which he won his third Oscar.

F*cking Grim Reaper is hitting Hollywood hard nowadays...
Too bad he's taking the pioneers of modern cinema...just being passed into the collective consciousness of cinema history, only being remembered as a shoddy pic (like above) and foot note in old articles noone reads 'cuz everything is in the internet now, spawning theatre texting/ cell calling *ssholes counting back the days to another mediocre, generic remake by soul sucking movie suits ready to make the next buck off of ignorant, sheep mentality audience waiting to see the ego centric, talentless hack to phone in their performance but getting multimillion dollar clauses to get paid on the back end, getting rich for substandard work & having the suffering economy news to make time to wonder if "RPatz" will return with "KStew" being interviewed by all media outlets attracting the impressionable youth being gloued to their TV sets, turning their brains to mush!!
(End rant 'bout right here)
Oh, BTW, I also do children's parties, barmitzahs, quinceaneras, & wedding anniversaries...

Every man dies.
Not every man directs or creates special effects and wins Oscars.

@ bandolero999, don't worry about talented people, there's still plenty out there but there's also some out there like me that struggle or are limited from reaching their full potential...there's still great movies out there, just not as many as there used to be

Well, ok, I didn't misread the title, I just read the f*cking title and NOT the f*cking article.
Learn to write better titles, Alex. Jesus f*ck.

And yes, I actually thought the director of Willy Wonka is, was, also the creator of ET. Like I would know differently, and like I would give a flying ninja f*ck.
