"The Bourne Legacy" - What Did You Think?Posted: August 11th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
The latest Jason Bourne film, "The Bourne Legacy," that doesn't have Jason Bourne or Matt Damon, is now playing in theaters. If you already had the chance to see it, we want to know what you thought. Write your mini-reviews in the comments section below.
On RottenTomatoes "The Bourne Legacy" has a 51% fresh rating, with many critics agreeing that the film has a bunch of twists and some great action, but ultimately falls apart in the story department. Some call it predictable, others call it the worst in the franchise.
The new film cost $125 million to make and early predictions place it at a $30 million domestic opening, which is slightly better than "The Bourne Identity" ($27.1 million) grossed. The second film took in $52.5 million, and the third earned $69.3 million. "The Bourne Legacy" will have to rely heavily on international ticket sales to become profitable.

I actually liked it. I hope that can get Renner & Bourne in a sequel together to close the franchise.

No one on here can afford to see the movie.
Not like their negative minds would allow them to see the movie with Renner being a "horrible actor" and all.

It was decent enough to fit in well within a series that has been established.
Back story was lengthy at times but it wasnt bad. Acting was good. Action was so-so but overall it was good movie in its own right. Its similar to how I felt about TDKR (a good Batman movie on its own but not quite good enough when injected as the final act in the trilogy). The previous Bourne movies had a faster pace and thrill factor to them.
It certainly WAS NOT the 3 out of 10 you jokers gave it. Perhaps it would haved helped the reviewer to watch the movie with his eyes as opposed to viewing it with his head shoved up his ass, maybe? It was more of a 7/10.

Saw The Campaign instead. I guess it was alright, sporadically funny. But, when all said and done, it was a lazy attempt at any real satire. Just an attack on the right wingers (especially the Koch brothers). I wouldn't call my self a conservative, but goddamit do I hate hypocritical liberals who use Hollywood as a way to push their agenda to a generation of ignorant morons who can't formulate their own opinions, and instead listen to Zach Galifinakas...

Renner is a fine actor, but I have no interest in a Damon-less Bourne. Sorry. I also heard there was significantly less action based on a few reviews, so I can already tell its going to be a snoozer.

Saw it this afternoon and Renner was capable in the action and fight scenes but there was a peculiar fixation on procuring these stupid matrix type pills so he could fight people and be more battle-ready and it got exhausting. Ed Norton is barely in the movie at all and the best part were the scenes in Manila and a pretty decent chase scene on a dirt bike.
The ending was very abrupt but they played the Moby song and it's definitely leading into another movie.

It'd be nice to hear that Damon appears in an after credits scene

"will have to rely heavily on international ticket sales to become profitable."
Increasingly, that's the studios' strategy, as they move from American audiences increasingly into foreign markets. Lots of money out there.
As for the film, meh. Borne Identity is enough for me. Too much elaboration and exploitation already.

I enjoyed it a lot, the parallel plot with bourne doing his thing and cross doing his is well done, Renner didnt replace damon at all but was his own in this movie and he did well. I really hope they can mesh the two and get Bourne and Cross together since Bourne was the prototype for all of this minus the genetic enhancements which im sure bourne doesnt even need lol!
