Back in the 1920s, Johnny Weissmuller become one of the world's fastest swimmers by winning five Olympic gold medals and setting 67 records. After his swimming career, MGM hired him to play the lead in the studio's "Tarzan" movie, a role he went on to play twelve times.
Now comes word that Michael Phelps is set to follow in Weissmuller's footsteps by taking on the Tarzan role in a remake of the classic film that will be directed by David Yates (Harry Potter) for Warner Bros. The Sunday Times reported the news, but says that the studio has yet to confirm anything.
Meanwhile, Phelps has joined "The Haney Project" on the Golf Channel, which will feature the swimmer on his quest to play better golf. He will be coached by Hank Haney, who previously helped Tiger Woods, Charles Barkley, and Ray Romano perfect their games. Production on the new season begins next month.

It's a known fact that even with all his medals, Phelps still can't score.
In fact, there was an interview I recall with a female former swim team colleague who, when asked if she was romantically involved with Phelps, said she wasn't interested in him.
The way she said it was like he had AIDS written all over him, the way cheerleaders refuse to associate with the math nerds.
