Warner Bros Shuts Down Warner Premiere, "A Christmas Story 2" Still Set for OctoberPosted: August 14th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Warner Bros has shut down Warner Premiere, it's straight-to-video division. The company was launched at the height of the DVD boom in the mid-2000s, when consumers bought movies made specifically for home entertainment.
"Given the continuing decline in the direct-to-video film market, the decision was made to close Warner Premiere," Warner Bros said in a statement. "The division will continue and complete production on its remaining film and digital series projects into the fall."
Warner Premiere was behind "Lost Boys: The Tribe" and "Lost Boys: The Thirst," as well as "Get Smart: Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control," "Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning," and "The Hills Run Red."
The company is looking to release "A Christmas Story 2" on DVD and Blu-ray on October 30th. In the sequel, Ralphie (Braeden Lemasters) is a teenager and has his sights set on a new toy for Christmas: a 1938 Hupmobile Skyline Convertible. Daniel Stern plays the father.

Who would watch a completely unnecessary sequel like that? Even for direct to video that's stupid. I wanted a car when I turned 16. You know what my dad said when I told him so? "Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Oh, really? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!"

It already has a sequel,'it runs in the family' i believe
Warner Bros. seems to just be micro managing by screwin with the dvd division when they should be lookin at how they run their production schedules

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

Direct 2 DVD has always been to me were bad sequels, unoriginal ideas, bad actors and other f*ck up stuff end..... Is almost like A actor from Hollywood goes to porn industry. I still don't know who buys this because been honestly it doesn't have anything special than a theatrical release. Is just bad.
And now Warner making this decision is the best thing that happen to this business a long time ago....
