James Gunn May Direct Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy"Posted: August 19th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Joss Whedon only directed one film (Serenity) when he took on Marvel's "The Avengers." But the studio was banking on his fanbase, knowledge of comic books and the ability to blend comedy with action and horror. In the end, it was a winning bet since the film went on to gross $1.5 billion.
Everyone took notice. Warner Bros recently announced that they would be looking for someone with similar qualities to direct "Justice League of America," and now comes word that Marvel is once again searching for a Whedon-like helmer to tackle "Guardians of the Galaxy."
The person they have in mind... James Gunn, the director of "Slither" and "Super," and the writer of Zack Snyder's "Dawn of the Dead" remake. Gunn is currently in talks with Marvel. The job is his if he wants it. But if he doesn't, the studio is also considering Peyton Reed (Yes Man, The Break-Up) and the "Half Nelson" duo Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden.

I haven't seen Super, but Slither was funny as hell. May be a good choice, since their looking for cheap directors.

Slither is garbage. I've never seen Super though, but more than likely more of the same.
Terrible choice, made only remotely palatable by the far worse alternatives.

Awesome choice. Loved both Super and Slither, and let us not forget about PG Porn.

You have to be a fan of Troma to enjoy this guys work.
If you don't know Troma, your opinion is worthless.
I think he would be an interesting choice, the film would most likely be f*cking stranger than f*ck though.
