Universal Pictures is in talks with Jim Carrey to play a supporting role in the upcoming "Kick-Ass" sequel. If the deal works out, Carrey will play Colonel Stars, a military-type superhero who puts together a team of misfit superheroes, called Justice Forever, with the intent to fight evil.
Carrey would join a cast comprised of Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Robert Emms, Yancy Butler and Morris Chestnut. There's also a rumor that Nicholas Cage will return as well.
Carrey is a big fan of Matthew Vaughn's original "Kick-Ass" film. He once put on a Kick-Ass costume to perform a musical duet with Conan O'Brien (pictured). But that doesn't mean he will want to join the sequel.

^I think the difference is Jim Carey can do subtle if he needs to (Eternal Sunshine) he's a good actor that excels in comedy. Nicholas Cage just plays himself and somebody on that much cocaine finds it impossible to tone it down, he's not even human he's the fifth element.
They better hurry up with this one since "The third book of the Kick-Ass series (the Hit-Girl mini-series takes place before Kick-Ass 2) begins several months after the events of the first series." Chloe Moretz already looks years older they're gonna have to alter the story a bit. Also get a decent director to put his own style on it instead of a Brett Ratner type trying to copy Matthew Vaughn's style and ruining the whole thing.
