After Jim Carrey got upset that Warner Bros wasn't taking the "Dumb and Dumber" sequel seriously, he abandoned the new film. But after calming down, it was quickly confirmed that he was once again on board. And so were Jeff Daniels, and directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly.
It seems that things are now moving forward, and Bobby Farrelly is happy to share the first plot details. "I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them and it's 20 years later," he said. "These guys are in regular life and they're still basically children at heart."
Farrelly continued: "The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have [fathered] a child. They want to go and find the child because [one of them is] having a kidney problem and he wants to ask [the child] for one of his kidneys."
Daniels previously said that the plan is to begin shooting in the spring of 2013.

Interesting idea but these guys don't get laid! they get others laid. The final scene in the film with the bus load of girls teaches us this. Anyhow Pornfly's idea much better, need them in a ridiculous role not serious well normal lives? cmon. It isn't my fav Movie not in my top 500 but it was enjoyable, especially the sh*t scene! as Cress stated. Different plot essential imo

I like Pornfly's plot better...I would add the Sheik's daughter is a dumbass just like them & the Sheik is desperate to give her hand to either of them (nobody from there wants her) & promises gold buillons, but they spend the whole movie not knowing what those are.
