Jude Law Talks Sherlock Holmes 3Submit Comment
While promoting "Anna Karenina" at the Toronto Film Festival, Jude Law offered an update on the third "Sherlock Holmes" movie, which brought on Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) last year to write the script.

"I don't [know when filming begins]," he said. "There's certainly talk of it and I know there's a script being played around with, but [Robert] Downey's a busy boy and I'm a busy boy, so we'll see. But we want to [do another one]. We're a very happy team and we have a lot of fun."

The first "Sherlock Holmes" was released in 2009 and grossed $524 million globally. on a $90 million budget. The sequel, called "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows," followed in 2011 and grossed $544 million.

Translated- We're more than just a bickering gay duo on screen, we plug each other's poop pipe's up in between takes in RDJ's trailer.

"I thought Sherlock Holmes 2 was better than the first. Anyone agree?"

No. The story might have had more going on, there might have been more action scenes, but overall, Sherlock Holmes 2 suffers from a long-winded story that jumps from one scene, one misadventure, to another, so quickly the viwer never has time to fully ingest and digest what he or she just saw.

Felt like a much longer film than the first as well, although I think it was more cerebral than the first, comparable to the Doyle stories.

"They left it open where they7 kind of HAVE to make a sequel now."

Not really. IIRC, in the books, Moriarity was dispatched permanently similar to how Sherlock Holmes 2 ended, and so, without Moriarty, the writers must now develop an even greater mind to best the detective, which means they'll have to do some inventing, or else bring the professor back, leaving the viewer to wonder: if a 600 foot fall won't kill Sherlock's nemesis, what will?

I've still got faith mink, It takes some damn good writers to write the witty remarks and genius plot lines to the past 2 movies.

and maybe it's not exactly genius, but its the best word i can think of right now lol
