Trailer for The Collection Horror Film, Sequel to The CollectorSubmit Comment
Today we have the official trailer for "The Collection," which is a sequel to "The Collector," starring Josh Stewart (The Dark Knight Rises), Emma Fitzpatrick (The Social Network), and Christopher McDonald (Requiem for a Dream). Check it out below.

Plot: When Elena's (Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he's transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter's disappearance, Elena's wealthy father (McDonald) hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through the gruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena.

The new movie is once again directed by Marcus Dunstan and written by Dunstan and Patrick Melton, the writers of the last four "Saw" movies and "Piranha 3DD." It's set to hit theaters on November 30th.

This looks like crap. Watchable crap I guess, but nonetheless crap. At least Sinister actually gave me a sense of real horror. This director/writer is a hack.

The first one was stupid. What is he "collecting"? It never says. More cliché bull crap.

the first film i thought was decent. his motives werent really explained but then again neither were michaels in the original halloween. not to compare this to halloween but i feel like with serial killer horror movies you never really find out a lot about the killer until the sequel. so that being said i guess we'll see. the first movie answered who, this one needs to answer why.

Speaking of horror films: I have tickets to either see House and the End or Here Comes the Boom tonight. Same theater, same time. Anyone have an opinion of which one I should see?

im thinking maybe he collects people and makes "art" out of them or something. i saw a poster for this sequel and thats the impression i got.

they ripped off a pretty good portion of the book intensity for the first one. in it a guy breaks into peoples houses kills and tortues them blablabla. one girl escapes and follows him when she finds out hes holding a girl captive at his house. she tries to help the girl but gets caught. the guys name in the book is vess and he explains that he gets a thrill from killing and loves it. its like his hobby. he holds a normal life and day job too (the book is like a combination of the collector and dexter i suppose). when he leaves for work the girls escape and find a sheriff but then it turns out vess is the sheriff, which is why he gets away with the murders (covers it up). then theres the final fight and the book ends.

but since its saw directors, and the first was written as a prequel to saw but turned into collector instead, i feel like theyll give him a bigger hideout then just a house and add torture and traps into the mix like the first film had. so my best guess is theyll combine the books ending cause they dont really come up with new stuff and maybe the "body art" or something like that. along with torture and traps of course.

First film wasn't scary, or even tense, and the only reason to watch it is to get a sense of the pointless nihilism into which horror films are trending out of creative frustration.

^ have you seen cabin in the woods? not scary by any means but creativity is definitley there.
